As both a psychotherapist and artist, Kerry Evitts is passionate about using art and creativity to enhance well-being, foster community connections, and combat feelings of isolation and loneliness. Research has long proven the benefits of community engagement and mindful art practices, and Kerry is on a mission to make a real difference through her work, s what is she up to in 2025? Let take a look.

 

Kerry is providing Free Mindful Art Therapy sets provided to BCER for children escaping domestic violence. Each set costs $10 to produce so if you would like to help please do, your $10 could make a real difference!!

"NEXT GENERATION" – An Annual Children's Art Exhibition

One of Kerry’s most impactful initiatives is the NEXT GENERATION Art Exhibition, an inspiring event that highlights the therapeutic benefits of art for mental health. This annual exhibition showcases the creativity of over 60 young artists, drawing in more than 500 community members to celebrate art, engage in creative activities, and explore mindfulness techniques.

Now in its third year, NEXT GENERATION 2025 is already in motion and about to launch. Thanks to the generous support of Community Bank Highett, this year’s event promises to be bigger than ever.

What’s happening in 2025?

Kerry’s vision for the future includes free community art workshops designed to support and uplift different groups through creativity:

-Free Carers’ Art Workshops Feb - April – Sponsored by Community Bank Highett
-Free Volunteers’ Art Workshops Feb - June – Sponsored by Community Bank Highett

These workshops will offer carers and volunteers a chance to connect, express themselves, and experience the well-being benefits of creativity, all in a welcoming and supportive environment.
