Art Therapy
Kerry has a rich background working in both the Arts and Mental health, bringing them together to offer Art Therapy.
Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses the creative process of making art to improve a person's physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Through activities such as drawing, painting, and sculpting, we can explore and express emotions that may be difficult to articulate with words. This therapeutic approach provides a non-verbal outlet for processing feelings, reducing stress, and enhancing self-awareness. Art therapy is particularly beneficial in helping individuals develop coping skills, improve self-esteem, and bring personal growth.
I offer a safe, supportive environment where clients can engage in creative expression as a means of healing and self-discovery.
Questions I often get asked:
1. Where do we have the sessions? a. My studio in Highett
2. Do I need to be creative? a. Absolutely no skills are required; it's about the process, not the outcome of the artwork!
3. Can I talk about my feelings if I want to? a. Of course, this session is about you, and although art therapy allows us to process emotions through creativity, people often feel that talking comes naturally, too.
4. How many sessions should I book for? a. Like with any therapy, everyone and their needs differ, so I advise an initial chat first to determine your goals. often, I advise my clients to book for a minimum of 4 weeks to start the therapeutic process and assess as we go, led by your own feedback and needs.
5. How much does Art therapy cost and how long are the sessions for? a. The sessions cost $150.00 per session and last for 1 hour
