What is the THE NEXT GENERATION?

Next Generation 2024 an art exhibition for children aged 5-16 years old. Now in its 2nd year, this community event is designed to raise awareness for art and creativity as a mental health tool for our children. Last years event was a huge success which saw over 30 exhibitors and attracted over 500 people. This year, it's back even bigger than ever! The exhibition will run from 21-26 March 2024 at 26 Advantage Rd, Highett. Across the week, there will be a number of interactive & mindful arts & crafts activities and workshops. The main Opening day is Sat 23rd March 12-3pm so get it in the diary!

  • Entry Artworks can be a variety of mediums, including photography, collage, painting, drawings, ceramics, 3d art, digital art and poetry. All successful painting artworks must be presented on a ready-to-hang canvas size 16 x 20 or smaller.

    The theme of this years Exhibition is Alice in Wonderland.

     

    Submissions close on 6th March and

  • For successful Exhibitors: 
    All artworks must have the name of the artwork, child’s name, and the age written on the back

     
    All artwork must be dropped off at the gallery on Wednesday, 20th March, between 9 am and 11 am and collected before noon on Wed, 27th March. There are no exceptions to these times as we have to hang the artwork before 12 on Wednesday, the 20th, and unfortunately, we do not have space to hold onto any artwork once they are taken down on Wednesday, the 27th Am.

     

    All successful artworks will be within the theme of “Alice in Wonderland” (whatever that means to the individual child)
